SOLD - Beautiful, Functional, Rare...Really Outstanding!
Alexey Konygin, a 28 year old knifemaker from Zavolzhe (near to Nizhni Novgorod) in Russia, began making knives in 2011, and went full-time in 2013. In that short time his work has become very popular and is extremely sought after.
He told me this is maybe his 30th Full Custom, and only a handful (including this one) that have made it to the USA--and this is the only the third one that he has sent to the US himself.
- Alexey Polished the Skeletonized Titanium Handles--they feel great in-hand!
- And he Egg-Shelled & Bronzed the Titanium Liners
- And this is Alexey's Konygin's first ever knife with a Bearing Pivot...but based on the knife's Perfect Flipping Action, you'd think he invented it!
A really Minimal Flipper Tab is all that he needed to cause the blade to break the perfect deten tension--with both Speed and Authority. It is Virtually Impossible (even if you try throughout a third straight Cubs Playoff Loss) to experience a "Failed Flip." ...I know you wouldn't want to...that is my point! :)
- The Dual-ground Big-Belly Recurve is outstanding...and with what Alexey calls a "Blood Groove Swedge." Hand-rubbed, Stain-finished PSF27 Blade with Polished Flats.
- Then he Dressed It Up perfectly with a Zla-TI Pocket Clip
- Specs: 4 1/2" Blade (as the crow flies); 9 1/2" OAL; 6.75 Ounces
- Condition: New from Maker
