At G7 (2015 Labor-day Weekend in Vegas) Ernie brought his first ever Emerson Custom Flippers. 2 Custom CQC-6s Prototype Flippers he gifted to Eric and Mare Blair, and the USN. The other 2--this Custom CQC-7 Prototype Flipper, and a Emerson Custom model that he calls a Custom Sheepdog Spearpoint Prototype Flipper--he made available in his Lottery. He stunned the room and the world with both his Generosity and his FLIPPERS!
And as far as Flippers go, the 4 Emerson Custom Flippers each run on a Bearing Pivot System, and flipped like a Gold Medal winning Olympic Gymnast. Perfect Detent, Perfect Action, Vault Lock-up, and Easy Lock Release.
The CQC-7 is similar in design to the CQC6, a bit more useful handle. The handle has both a palm swell and a parrot beak downturn on the butt, to allow for better control in difficult situations or when wet. The 6 had an offensive skull crusher butt that lost some control as a result. The 7 was also chosen by Benchmade as a production knife that became one of (if not THE) best selling knives in their history.
