SOLD - Dual Scalops, Black Blade, Minimal Jimping
The CQC-7 is from say 1995, definitely a "Garage" knife. It has lots of Bells and Whistles of note.... The blade has the most desired "aggressive" grind profile; it is ATS-34 with Paul Bos heat treat; the grind is a single bevel, which will stand up to significant use without any problem, ('zero grind' chips out much easier.) Threaded bolsters, very desirable. Obviously it has a very rare black blade. There is significant handwork in the Handle Scales and Bolsters--including Dual Thumbdisk Scalops. And really special is the Lack of Jimping--only on the very earliest CQCs. Plus it has the old thickness titanium liners (~.0625"). You will not see very many like that one around these days, 7s were not often produced back then. Great knife! (JBravo from the USN - The World's foremost Emerson Historian)
Very similar in design to the CQC6, with a slightly larger blade, and a more useful handle. The handle has both a palm swell and a parrot beak downturn on the butt, to allow for better control in difficult situations or when wet. The 6 had an offensive skull crusher butt that lost some control as a result. The 7 was also chosen by Benchmade as a production knife that became one of (if not THE) best selling knives in their history.
