SOLD - Alexey named it "Small Crow" even though it has a 5" blade
Prior to knife making Alexey Konygin was a Professional Designer at a successful advertising Agency (and after you see his exceptional sense of design and creativity, I am sure you'll agree they were very sad to see him leave.)
Alexey Konygin , a 28 year old knifemaker from Zavolzhe (near to Nizhni Novgorod) in Russia, began making knives in 2011, and went full-time in 2013. In that short time his work has become very popular and is extremely sought after.
He told me this is maybe his 30th Full Custom, and there only 2 or 3 (including this one) that have made it to the USA--this is the only one that he has sent himself.
- I counted (several times) and as close as I can see, Alexey ground 96 Polished and Egg-Shelled Surfaces (plus hardware) to make the parts for this Skeletonized Knife
- When Concepting the Mechanical Operation of this Knife, Alexey Designed it to Function on 2 Pivots--1 Pivot of course services the Blade, and the other for the Tail-Lock
- The Concept for a Tail-Lock is not new, but Alexry's Interpritation and Execution is Imaginative and Magnificently Executed
- Compound-ground (5 grinds on each side, plus 4 surfaces on the blade spine!) Hand-rubbed 2-Tone PSF27 Blade
- Specs: 5" Blade (as the crow flies); 10 1/2" OAL; 7.50 Ounces
- Condition: New from Maker
